Reading
Books at Argosy Book Store
To the slightly intoxicating smell of old books, I thumbed through dozens of used books and prints at Argosy on East 59th between Park and Lexington. I particularly enjoyed perusing the shelf of French-language books.
Listening
The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
I listened to The Remains of the Day for Book Club. Note to self: read rather than listen to the good stuff. I would absolutely have savored the writing more in print.
Growing
Relationships
Reunions with friends I met in Asia continued in NYC. We lunched under blue skies and warm sunshine at Bryant Park. We celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival with a walk through Chelsea Market, dumplings at the Chinese restaurant Blue Blossom, and the Tony-winning musical Maybe Happy Ending, which I highly recommend.
Creating
Space
Again this week, I created space to be grateful. After a run through Central Park, I sat outside in front of a bakery indulging in a pastry and drinking tea. I looked up to see Anderson Cooper walking his son to school. The best celeb sighting.

Modernity and Opulence: Women of the Wiener Werkstätte at The Jewish Museum
'Twas a pleasure to view Gustav Klimt's Study for Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I while learning about her patronage of the Wiener Werkstätte, which provided women a pivotal economic platform from 1903 to 1932. The art, ceramics, and textiles are impressive as is the collective influence leading to women's right to vote in Vienna. Runs through 15 November 2026.
