I dwell in possibility. - Emily Dickinson

Reading

She Walks in Beauty by Caroline Kennedy

A good novel is exactly how I usually get through 20+ hours of travel. However, traveling from the US to Singapore, I loved dipping in and out of this anthology of poems. Kennedy's personal stories evoke a grounded nostalgia, and the poetry is a mix of light, funny, and exquisitely tender. I continue to be surprised at the prescience of words from centuries ago.

Listening

Served with Andy Roddick

I relished watching early round matches of the US Open live, but with the time difference I have slept through the incredible matches in week two. Over the last year, I've enjoyed the commentary, banter, and even Airbnb recommendations from Andy Roddick and Jon Wertheim's podcast, and this week, I've so appreciated their recaps, especially with the energy of so many American players.

Growing

Relationships

It's been an absolute pleasure nurturing friendships in Singapore. I've missed our routines whether they be weekly or quarterly, and it's a real treat to see these dear friends in person. We've chatted about the seasons we're each going through from family and career to travel and life's milestones. With their wealth of knowledge and experience, they inspire me, and I already look forward to our next in-person adventure.

Creating

Space

In a week of mixed emotions, I'm making space for stillness and reflection. These last ten months have been the longest time away from Singapore since I moved here in September 2013. The 25th anniversary of September 11th weighs heavy as I remember exact details of that day. It's impossible to not collectively reflect on the years since 2001, and it feels prudent to consider the path ahead.

Learning

Tennis

After ten months, I was thrilled to have a lesson with my coach, who I've missed along with the consistency of the women's tennis clinics here. Between the lesson and casual play with friends, I'm excited to continue the momentum into the fall in Florida, particularly as the temperatures cool.

Working

Training AI models

A few months in, I'm enjoying the analysis, writing, and editing. What an interesting time to be at the forefront of this rapidly changing technology. See LinkedIn ↗ for more on my professional career.
